Helen L. Ness Gallery of Donated Art

HELEN L. NESS – A.O.C.A.

Helen, a painter and printmaker originally from Dundas Ontario, graduated from the Ontario College of Art, Toronto in Advertising Art and pursued a career as a commercial artist.

After returning to Dundas with her young family she took further courses at the Dundas Valley School of Art. Helen found the etching process both exciting and challenging, although she continues to work in a various mediums, etchings are her “first love” and miniatures her specialty.

Helen has very generously donated the following works to help fund our legal defense.  Donations of over $300.00 are entitled to select the print or etching of their choice, donations of over $500.00 may select an original painting or drawing of their choice.  

 

Through the years Helen’s work has been successfully shown in juried and group shows in public and private galleries both in Canada and the U.S.

Her awards include “Purchase Awards” and “Best in Show”.

A former teacher of adult classes and workshops in the Hamilton area Helen enjoys sharing her knowledge.

Helen has been active in many arts organizations including serving on the board of directors for the Hamilton Arts Council, president of the Woman’s Art Association of Hamilton and an original member of the Carnegie Gallery.
